The pen varies according to the size and script being written. We usually use aged reeds or bamboo. Depending on the script, the inclination of the table, and the size of the letters, the nib of the pen is then cut at the appropriate angle. For bigger, celi scripts, we use pens carved out of wood. For smaller scripts, a java pen, coming from the leaves of a tropical tree, is used due to its hardness.
